Vitametik

Vitametik® - A holistic neuromuscular relaxation method. Like a reset button for your body
Vitametik® is a gentle, science-backed relaxation technique designed to alleviate stress and stress-related symptoms. Established in Germany in 1999, this method has been performed millions of times, helping individuals relax their muscles and nervous system.
Vitametik® uses the body’s own language to promote deep relaxation. A gentle manual pressure point is applied to the lateral neck muscles, resembling the nerve impulses of relaxed muscles. The neck’s nerves relay this signal to the brain, which translates the information and instructs the body to relax.

The neuromuscular relaxation achieved by Vitametik® can help alleviate complaints such as neck pain, shoulder and arm issues, back or lower back pain, and headaches caused by chronic muscular tension. It is a painless, gentle, and relaxing method, suitable for anyone experiencing stress-related tensions or symptoms.

Vitametik® can be used as a standalone therapy or as a complement to existing treatments. Regular sessions may also act as a preventative measure for maintaining overall well-being. Please speak to your GP or alternative health practitioner before starting Vitametik® alongside your current therapy, as it is not a replacement for ongoing treatments. Only your GP or health practitioner should make changes to existing medications or therapies.

Muscle tension and stress
Muscle tension is an important component of our stress response. When our body prepares for fight or flight, one of the physiological changes includes increased muscle tension. Prolonged or chronic stress can lead to chronic muscle tension, which may result in misalignment in the body. This, in turn, can cause various symptoms such as tension headaches, neck, shoulder, and back pain, joint pain, inflammation, and more. One indication is a leg length difference caused by the muscle tension which we address during Vitametik sessions.

Vitametik session
A Vitametik session follows the same structure, regardless of the specific causes or symptoms of your stress.

The session begins with an assessment of your current situation. Next, muscle tension and pelvic misalignment are evaluated using palpation of the neck muscles and a dynamic leg length test.

The core of the session is the Vitametik impulse — a gentle, manual pressure applied to a specific point on the side of the neck. This is followed by a five-minute rest phase.

Afterward, the dynamic leg length test is repeated, and the session concludes with a final 20-minute rest phase to allow your body to fully relax and integrate the treatment.

Relaxation and after care
Your session is designed to include ample time for deep relaxation, with key rest phases to support your body. You will find that you were able to get some deep relaxation through this session.
It is important to stay well-hydrated after your session as this supports your body’s natural processes as it adjusts and works towards balance and relaxation.
To preserve the benefits of the session, it is important to avoid heavy lifting, exercising, and repetitive movements for at least the next 24 hours or until after your next sleep cycle. Your body and mind are in a deeply relaxed state, and engaging in intense activities could counteract the positive effects of the session.
While there are no known side effects of Vitametik, it's important to follow these guidelines to ensure the full benefits of your session. However, relaxing exercises such as a gentle walk can boost the effect of Vitametik.

What is the history of Vitametik®? The origins of Vitametik® can be traced back to the 1890s, when the founder of chiropractic, David Daniel Palmer, hypothesized that manipulating the spine could improve overall health. His son, Bartlett Joshua Palmer, further advanced this idea by developing a method of spinal adjustment focused on the first two cervical vertebra (the atlas and axis). In the 1980s, Dr. Huggler introduced this method to Europe under the name Vitalogy. Vitametik® was officially established in Germany in 2000 and later introduced to the UK in 2013. Today, Vitametik® is no longer classified as a chiropractic method but is recognized as a targeted muscular impulse technique aimed at promoting deep body relaxation. Vitametik® therapists are members of the Berufsverband für Vitametik e.V. (BVV), which was founded in 2000. They regularly undergo training to maintain high professional standards.
